Poached Cinnamon Pears

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe pears

  • 2 cups water

  • 1/2 cup maple syrup (canadian)

  • 2 cinnamon sticks

  • 1tsp vanilla extract

  • Juice 1/2 lemon

Intructions

  1. Prepare the Pears:
    Peel the pears, leaving the stems intact. Cut a small slice from the bottom to help them stand upright.

  2. Make the Poaching Liquid:
    In a saucepan, combine the water, sugar, cinnamon stick, vanilla bean if using, and lemon juice

     

  3. Poach the Pears:
    Gently add the pears to the simmering liquid. Cover the saucepan and cook for 15-20 minutes, turning the pears occasionally, until they are tender but not mushy.Poach the PearsGently add the pears to the simmering liquid

     

  4. Cool and Serve:
