Poached Cinnamon Pears

Ingredients
2 ripe pears
2 cups water
1/2 cup maple syrup (canadian)
2 cinnamon sticks
1tsp vanilla extract
Juice 1/2 lemon
Intructions
Prepare the Pears:
Peel the pears, leaving the stems intact. Cut a small slice from the bottom to help them stand upright.Make the Poaching Liquid:
Poach the Pears:
Gently add the pears to the simmering liquid. Cover the saucepan and cook for 15-20 minutes, turning the pears occasionally, until they are tender but not mushy.Cool and Serve:
Once cooked, remove the pears from the liquid and let them cool. You can serve them warm or chill them in the fridge. Drizzle with some of the poaching liquid before serving, if desired.
